The main outline of this presentation is to provide a progression of our IT Industry, particularly from a smaller IT company’s perspective.
The main focus is on how I was able to transition from a typical break fix and or a project based business to a provider of managed services.
Why was this transition so necessary some 13-15 years ago and how did I go about the transformation? The simple necessity was based around the “Feast or Famine” conditions that existed in so many small to medium business from that time.
I will cover off topics that will be of interest to delegates of some of the unique ways in which I packaged services to provide a differentiators to our customers and allowed us to gain new customers. Also add some suggestions to the community about ways they can take standard services but package them in such a way that it appears new, fresh and relevant to their customer base.
More importantly is the clear way we delivered these services every month so that customers knew what their ongoing operational costs would be and what they were getting for that investment.
It is intended to present this information in a way that will encourage discussion within the community and add some humour into the discussion around incidents that happened along the way.
